3 kids perish while playing with grenade

Crismundo Camp Bancasi, Butuan City – Three children were killed after an M203 grenade they were playing with exploded in a house in Purok 6, Sitio Neptune, Barangay Diatagon in Lianga, Surigao del Sur Monday night. Authorities identified those who were killed as Rynna G. Tui, 12; Renz P. Galdiano, 3; and his one-year-old younger brother Reden. Elements of the Alfa Company of the 75th Infantry (Marauder) Battalion (75th IB) and Lianga Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with Barangay Diatagon officials, proceeded to the area to verify the reported incident and provide necessary assistance to the victims. Upon arrival, the responding team saw the bodies of the three children on the terrace of a certain Reger Galdiano’s house. Based on the initial report of the Lianga MPS and 75th IB, the victim Renz was playing with the M203 grenade at the terrace with Rynna and Reden when the ordnance went off. Neighbors heard the explosion and immediately checked on the Galdiano household where they found the children’s bodies sprawled on the ground.
