Fair weather with cloudy skies and isolated rains will continue to prevail across the country this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its latest weather bulletin issued Friday, PAGASA said that no weather disturbance is expected to hit the country while generally hot and humid weather will be felt over most parts of the archipelago within the next three days.
According to PAGASA, the northeasterly surface windflow will affect the Extreme Northern Luzon bringing cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers mostly in the eastern section are expected due to easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, as well as localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, in various cities in Luzon, PAGASA weather specialist Samuel Duran said the temperature will range from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius (°C) in Metro Manila; 21 to 32 °C in Tagaytay; 25 to 32 °C in Legazpi City, Albay; 24 to 32 °C in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; 25 to 33 °C in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; 25 to 37 °C in Tuguegarao; and 16 to 26 °C in Baguio City.
In the Visayas and Mindanao, the temperature range will be from 26 to 32 °C in Iloilo; 24 to 31 °C in Tacloban; 26 to 33 °C in Cebu; 25 to 35 °C in Davao, 22 to 31 °C in Cagayan De Oro, and 23 to 34 °C in Zamboanga.
The state weather bureau announced on March 20 the termination of the northeast monsoon or "amihan" which signals the start of the dry season, or what many Filipinos call summer.
With hotter days ahead, PAGASA advised the public "to take precautionary measures to minimize heat stress and optimize the daily use of water for personal and domestic consumption."
