The search for “Mr. & Ms. Citizens of the World” is now ongoing, as announced recently by Ms. Marissa del Mar, host of the TV show “Buhay OFW.”

The show celebrates its first year anniversary this month. For this, there will be a Buhay OFW 1st Year Anniversary Trade Exhibit on Oct. 15-16 at the Glorietta Activity Are in Makati City. It will also be the soft launch of the Mr. & Ms. Citizens of the World search and some of the candidates will be presented.

The project is spearheaded by Buhay OFW Foundation in cooperation with Millicent Productions, Inc.

The “Mr. & Ms. Citizens of the World” is an “experience-based” competition combining charm and grace, true story-telling and text voting. The criteria are: Story Content, 45 percent; Text Voting, 35 percent, and Personality, 20 percent. There will also be winners in the “Most Inspiring Story” and “Most Successful Story” categories.

Among the prizes are Pangkabuhayan Packages, Sari-Sari Store Package, ITTC Scholarship grants, and cash prizes. “Buhay OFW” tells the stories of our modern-day heroes, the overseas workers and it airs every Saturday, from 10-11 p.m. on Aksyon TV, the news channel of TV5. It is also shown by Aksyon TV International in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Italy and USA.

Marissa, a former beauty queen turned actress-TV host and now civic leader, used to host the award-winning “Up Close & Personal with Marissa del Mar,” which was aired on Channel 13 for more than a decade.

The search for “Mr. and Ms. Citizens of the World” will further champion her OFW advocacy.

PMPC Star Awards  For Music Reveals Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the 4th PMPC Star Awards for Music.

Hosted by Pops Fernandez, Xian Lim and Maja Salvador, it was held recently at the Meralco Theater. A highlight of the event was the awarding of “Natatanging Alagad ng Musika” award to the music icons: Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Kuh Ledesma, Pops Fernandez who were “serenaded” onstage by Robin Nievera, Paolo Valenciano, Isabella and Karylle. Other awardees but were unable to come were Sharon Cuneta and Zsa Zsa Padilla.

Also honored that night were three established composers Lito Camo, Boy Christopher and Vehnee Saturno whose hit songs were sung by Jovit Baldovino, Marcelito Pomoy and the Mocha Girls. Meanwhile, Angeline Quinto, Yeng Constantino, Princess Velasco and Christian Bautista rendered a musical homage to the Lifetime Achievement awardee Jose Mari Chan.

Among the winners were: Album of the Year: “Araw Oras Tagpuan”/Sponge Cola/Universal Records; Song Of The Year: “Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka”/Erik Santos/Star Records; Female Recording Artist Of The Year: Aiza Seguerra/“Songs from The Vault”/Star Records; Male Recording Artist Of The Year/Jed Madela/“Breathe Again”/Universal Records; Duo/Group Artist Of The Year/The Company/“Lighthearted 2”/Viva Records; Pop Album Of The Year/“Outbound”/Christian Bautista/Universal Records; The Company/Beginnings at 20 Plus Incorporated/ Star Express.

The 4th PMPC Star Awards for Music will be aired today (Sept. 16) on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best.

Tattoo-Inspired  Swatches Now Out

Swatch has come out with tattoo-inspired Swatches, and this is in collaboration with French tattoo artist Tin-Tin, who is well-known tattoo artist in Europe. Tin-Tin does the tattoo prints of high-end designers like John Paul Gautlier. The Tattoo Swatches had its world premiere last Sept. 3.

In his recent two-month trip to France, Swatch Philippines ambassador and Kapamilya star Billy Crawford had his latest pride and joy – dragon tattoo biting his microphone – done of course by Tin-Tin who has added it to his latest inks.

Another Swatch Philippines ambassador is Kapatid star Derek Ramsay who has 10 of the latest and very popular Chrono Plastic Collection.
