Isolated rain showers expected today

By the Philippine News Agency Isolated rainshowers will prevail over most parts of the archipelago, the state weather bureau said Saturday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said it is monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) that was last spotted at 420 kms. east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. (PAGASA / MANILA BULLETIN) (PAGASA / MANILA BULLETIN) The northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera region, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Ilocos. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, according to PAGASA. Meanwhile, strong to gale winds will blow over the northern and eastern sections of northern Luzon, and its coastal waters will be rough to very rough. Winds will be moderate to strong over central Luzon, the rest of northern Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol, eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with light to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
