The government has started to restrict the movement of unvaccinated individuals with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) issuing a directive that no passenger will allowed to travel to, from, and within the National Capital Region (NCR) without proof of vaccination.

Meanwhile, a day after going down by more than 5,000 cases, the country’s daily coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections jumped to their second highest-ever with 32,246, even as the number of recoveries also continued to rise.

The OCTA Research Group also noted that the COVID-19 reproduction number in Metro Manila is starting to go down, but the Department of Health (DOH) and World Health Organization (WHO) were quick to tag that as “premature”, saying that the surge has yet to reach its peak.

But it was observed that the number of COVID-19 cases outside of Metro Manila was increasing.
