Makati court turns down as evidence two exhibits presented by Trillanes camp

By Jel Santos The Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 148 on Friday said it did not accept two exhibits presented by the camp of embattled Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as evidence. Exhibits 9 and 12 were not admitted because they have not been duly authenticated and were never identified by defense witnesses at their testimonies during the hearing on October 5, it stated. Meantime, the other exhibits with their submarkings were admitted by the court. Soriano said that Department of Justice's very urgent ex-parte motion for issuance of hold departure order and arrest warrant against Trillanes is now for resolution. Executive Judge Elmo Alameda of Makati RTC Branch 150, on the other hand, was asked by Trillanes' legal counsel Reynaldo Robles to properly hear the case of the lawmaker. "We've pointed out that the issues, in this case, are factual in nature, and would require the presentation of evidence. Just like in the case of Branch 148, which required the parties to present their respective evidence," he said on Friday. To recall, Alameda issued an arrest warrant and HDO against Trillanes on September 25. The senator on the same day paid P200, 000 bail for his temporary liberty. Branch 150 is handling his rebellion case, while Branch 148, coup d'etat. President Duterte voided Trillanes' amnesty through Proclamation 572, declaring the opposition senator's amnesty as "void ab initio" or void from the beginning.
