In his 10th weekly report to Congress, President Duterte identified the three large facilities as slated for conversion by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
The government has so far established 11 "mega community quarantine facilities" in Metro Manila and crucial cities like Davao City.
"The DPWH and BCDA are currently preparing the Quezon Memorial Circle, Cuneta Astrodome, and Ynares Sports Arena into mega community quarantine centers," Duterte said in his report on the use of his powers under the Bayanihan law.
Duterte said the conversion of the 11 large-scale facilities was made possible through the efforts of the national government, local government units, and contributions from the private sector.
Among the facilities that have been converted into mega quarantine centers are the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, World Trade Center, Philippine International Convention Center-Forum, Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Philippine Sports Complex/ ULTRA Stadium, ASEAN Convention Center, New Clark City-National Government Administrative Center, Philippine Arena, Filinvest Tent, Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City, University of the Philippines-Mindanao Multi-Purpose Building Human Kinetics Building, and Davao City Sports Complex.
Duterte said these converted quarantine centers can accommodate an estimated 2,584 COVID-related patients.
"While the DPWH and BCDA spearheaded the conversion of these sites, partners from the private sector and respective LGUs provided some of the venues, undertook part of the construction and installation of fit-out works, and supplied materials and equipment," he said.
Hospital beds, mobile x-ray machines, water supply, wi-fi connection, and closed-circuit television systems were provided by the private sector.
Duterte said the daily operations of the quarantine facilities are administered by medical teams from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, among others.

As of May 27, the President said 8,722 repatriates are still completing their 14-day quarantine in 68 facilities manned by the Bureau of Quarantine. These temporary quarantine sites include 44 hotels or similar facilities and 24 cruise ships.
“As of 28 May 2020, there are 36,680 repatriates from 538 repatriate vessels of which 85 percent (31,013) have completed their quarantine. Of the 12,655 land-based repatriates, 10,644 (84 percent) have completed their respective quarantine,” Duterte said.
