PAL flies 4th batch of Canadian nationals to Vancouver, Toronto

By Ariel Fernandez Hundreds of Canada nationals who were stranded in the country due to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) were finally flown back home via Philippine Airlines (PAL) special flights. (PAL via Arnel Fernandez/MANILA BULLETIN) (PAL via Arnel Fernandez/MANILA BULLETIN) PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the 4th batch of stranded Canadian citizens and permanent residents boarded the PR5116 flight to Vancouver, which continued on to Toronto. This will be followed by a 5th batch, will be brought to Vancouver. The Government of Canada has partnered with Philippine Airlines to provide dedicated commercial flights for stranded nationals and permanent residents. These are special dedicated flights under extraordinary circumstances. Clusters of Canadians in and around Cebu City, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Bacolod were identified. To facilitate travel within the Philippines, the Embassy provided all qualified eligible passengers with a letter addressed to national and local government authorities requesting unimpeded travel to airports, in accordance with existing government rules.
