PLDT, Smart offer 6-month installment payment for postpaid subscribers

By Marjaleen Ramos The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and Smart Communications, Inc. have offered a six-month installment payment program for monthly bills of its postpaid subscribers starting May 1. The telecommunications service providers, in a joint statement released on Wednesday, said that the six-month installment payment program offer is "to help ease the financial burden of its customers during the COVID crisis." Under the program, PLDT Home, Smart, and Sun postpaid subscribers can settle their unpaid balances as of April 30 in six equal monthly payments with 0% interest and no penalties. "We hope that through this payment program, we will help keep you connected whether you are at home, the office, or elsewhere after the enhanced community quarantine period," PLDT Inc. Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan said. "As one community, we will get through these challenging times together," he added.
