Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso appealed to hospital workers to set aside political differences and colors during the conferment of the ISO 9001:2015 certificate to Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JASGEN) in Binondo Tuesday.

"I know you have better educational background than me but in the meantime, I am your father. Let us set aside political differences and colors... We have a contract and for the next one thousand days or so, we will be working together. I need your help," Moreno said.
The ISO certificate, awarded by certifying body Tuv Sud Asia-Pacific is valid until August 2021. ISO 9001 is the international standard for a quality management system.
Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, a doctor by profession who was tasked by the mayor to exercise supervision over the city’s six public hospitals said it is with pride that the JASGEN is accepting the ISO and called on those running the hospital to continue providing world-class and reliable medical services and healthcare systems. Moreno thanked not only those behind the hospital’s operations but also the members of the private sector -- the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc.
who extended help to improve the looks and services of the said hospital.
"What you have achieved today is a solution that required quality and sustainability for future generations to come," Moreno said.
He also encouraged those working at JASGEN to be part of history by maintaining the status of the said institution as a “world-class public hospital” in Manila.
An ISO certification is an internationally-recognized standard certifying an agency’s ability to consistently provide service that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
JASGEN received the recognition for the providing healthcare services in general surgery, anaesthesiology, pediatrics, family medicine, intensive care, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, radiology, laboratory, dental, ophthalmology and ENT services.
