LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The management of SM City Legazpi has put alcohol dispensers at all of its entrances and comfort rooms as precautionary measures against the spread of the novel coronavirus (nCoV).
Claire Hariri, public relation officer of SM City Legazpi told the Manila Bulletin that customers were encourage to sanitize their hands upon entering the mall, or after using the comfort rooms.
"We value the safety of our costumers. Hindi naman ibig sabihin na may Corona virus sa Legazpi, but we are just assuring safety of costumers," Hariri said.
Aside from alcohol dispensers, escalator handrails, elevators, railings and all parts with frequent customers contact are being regularly sanitized.
Meanwhile, Department of Health (DOH) Bicol regional director Ernie Vera told the Manila Bulletin that the agency was well prepared in case there nCoV would be monitored in the region.
He said that a system was already in-place as what they had done during Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARs) outbreak some years ago.
"We are prepared for this virus that originated from China. Andyan na yung sistema na ginamit dati sa SARs. Once na may namonitor kami na kaso, immediately i-quarantine natin. So far sa ngayon, wala tayong namo-monitor na kaso, but we are closely monitoring," he said.
