Pasig city gov't provides 100 bikes for Pasigreen Bike Share program

At least 100 bikes will be provided by the Pasig City government for the Pasigreen Bike Share program which aims to give people around Ortigas Center an eco-friendly mode of transportation.

The Pasig City government will set up 10 stations with a total of 100 bikes around Ortigas Center to give people a mode of transportation that will not add pollution to the air, the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) said.

Pasigreen Bike Share will start to operate next month, CENRO said.

These bikes-for-rent are operated securely through smart cards. Bike renters only need to swipe the card onto the lock to release the bike from the dock where it is attached to. Bike share is free for the first 30 minutes and costs P10 per hour afterward.

A person who is interested in renting the bike, should submit first an application online to register. When the application is processed, the applicant will be informed by Bike Share staff through email to visit the Bike Share Office in Barangay, San AntonioÂ within three daysÂ for ID card picture-taking and issuance, CENRO said.

The Bike Share will be open fromÂ MondayÂ toÂ Friday, fromÂ 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
