VOTING OF P.W.D. BEING ENCOURAGED
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — Asia Foundation has initiated efforts encouraging Persons with disabilities (PWDs) to exercise their right of suffrage especially this coming elections. The Asia Foundation, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region began to implement a three year “Disability Inclusive Election Program.” Its aim is to ultimately address the needs of PWDs and make Comelec increase their access to registration sites and polling places in order to reduce or remove constraints that PWD voters might face. CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga–The Pampanga provincial government bared its significant accomplishment with expenditures of at least P1.2 billion for the various infrastructure projects in the province. Governor Lilia Pineda announced this during the oath-taking ceremony for officers of the Provincial Federation of Barangay Health Workers dubbed as “Bayanihan Para Sa Kalusugan Ng Mga Kapampangan” held at Stotsenberg Hotel at Clark Freeport, Pampanga. LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) here assured all out support to all programs of the Aquino Administration during the oath-taking ceremony for politicians from the 3rd to the 6th districts of this province at the Sison Auditorium, here, recently. NPC Provincial Chairman Mark O. Cojuangco administered the oath to some 270 candidates running for the position of board member, mayor, vice mayor, city and town councilor under the umbrella of NPC come 2013 election. He said that the development agenda of the Aquino administration is fully supported by the NPC and will see full implementation in the areas of jurisdiction of its elected members. WATER SUPPLY
CANDELARIA, Quezon — The Quezon provincial government has allotted P25-million fund for a pipeline installation project in this town. The pipeline installation project will benefit thousands of residents who have been waiting for a better supply of potable water, Quezon Gov. David Suarez. The provincial government has also unveiled a separate P7-million waterworks system for this town’s public market. The fund is part of the P55.8 million set aside for expenses from the 20 percent development funds. (PIA)
D.O.H. PROUD OF BARRIO DOCTORS
TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite — Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Enrique T. Ona said the enthusiasm and energy he sees in all the doctors to the barrios, reassure him of hope for the health sector as well as becoming a reality the dream of ‘Kalusugang Pangkalahatan’ (KP) or Universal Health Care (UHC). Ona, who was speaking at the commencement exercise for the 38 doctors graduating with the degree of Master in Public Management Major in Health System and Development Program at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM) under the government’s Doctors to the Barrios Program (DTTBP), thanked the graduates for devoting two years of their lives to serve the people in the barrios.
