Road works will resume over the weekend, affecting seven road portions in Quezon City and Taguig, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said today.

The road repair and reblocking will start tonight until Monday morning, DPWH–National Capital Region director Melvin Navarro said.
The affected roads, according to Navarro, are Quirino Highway, from STI Novaliches to Rockville, inner lane; Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), from Seminary Road to Fema Road, sixth lane, and from K-10th Street to East Avenue, first lane from sidewalk, both northbound; Congressional Avenue, from San Beda Road to Visayas Avenue, first lane; Visayas Avenue, in front of PCOO, outer lane, southbound; and A. Bonifacio Avenue, crossing Sgt. Rivera, middle lane, southbound and Mauban Street, going to Sgt. Rivera, outer lane, northbound.
Road works will also be undertaken along southbound direction of C-5 Road, from K0015+000 to K0014+(370) in Taguig City.
Navarro said they will use one-day curing concrete mix for the repair so that the roads will be reopened at exactly 5 a.m. on Monday.
Motorists were advised to slow down when taking the affected roads or take alternate routes.
Meanwhile, the motorist assistance program or the "Lakbay Alalay" of the DPWH will be reactivated during the Holy Week to provide motorists and commuters as well as local and foreign tourists prompt and reliable assistance while traveling.
Field offices nationwide have been directed to reactivate the department’s motorist assistance program starting at 12 noon on Holy Wednesday, March 28 until 12 noon on Monday, April 2.
According to Public Works and Highways chief Mark Villar, motorist assistance teams will be deployed on a round-the-clock shift to provide emergency assistance and ensure major thoroughfares are well-maintained, and free from obstructions and potholes.
