MICP reiterates call for stakeholders to use online system

One of the Bureau of Customs’ main ports has reiterated its call for stakeholders to utilize its online system in transacting with the bureau amid limited operations caused by newly imposed quarantine measures.

The Manila International Container Port on Monday told its stakeholders  they can pay various customs fees and charges through Paymaya as part of the bureau’s arrangement with the company.

The port also reminded its importers and brokers that payment of duties and taxes can be done through the Bureau of Customs Accredited Agent Banks (AAB).

With the MICP Landbank branch currently closed due to disinfection and cleaning, stakeholders are reminded that Landbank transactions can be processed at Landbank Port of Manila Branch and other AAB.

“MICP assures stakeholders that the port will continue to take on measures to facilitate and minimize disturbance to the supply chain, while securing the safety of its employees and of the transacting public,” it said.

On June 26, the bureau activated the online payment for the collection, transmittal, and remittance of customs fees and charges through PayMaya to further encourage faceless transactions and to complement the bureau’s goal to shift to a “new normal” system.
