Tagbilaran City – The town of Inabanga plans to commemorate the first anniversary of the incursion of 11 members of the Abu Sayyaf, which transformed the security dynamics of Bohol.
Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto said Inabanga plans to mark the anniversary on April 11.
Chatto briefed members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) last Friday on the plan to observe the anniversary as a way of honoring the soldiers and law enforcers who helped ferret out the terrorists.
The terrorists made their way up the Inabanga River to the remote barangay of Napo.
Authorities said the Abu Sayyaf may have wanted to establish a base before the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Panglao.
