MB Daily News Update: PH braces for effects of Ukraine conflict
MB Daily News Update:
The situation continues to go dire each day in Ukraine as the embattled eastern European country sought the help of other countries to stop Russia from sabotaging its civilians who are fleeing the war.
The Philippines is also bracing for the effects of the conflict on the economy, particularly on the prices of goods and basic services, even as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has enforced mandatory evacuation for the remaining Filipinos still in Ukraine.
Ruing a drastic decline in vaccination in the country, the government will be staging a fourth National Vaccination Days from March 10 to 12 to address the disappointing number of vaccinees availing of their booster shots.
President Duterte has also appointed a new Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman, and two commissioners to complete the poll agency full-complement of seven members.
And the Supreme Court has issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on the Comelec’s Oplan Baklas.
