The Archdiocese of Manila will offer all the holy masses in parishes under its jurisdiction for justice and peace in the country on July 27, to coincide with the fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Duterte.

Archdiocese of Manila Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo said the holy masses for justice and peace will be the Church’s contribution or “ambag” to the President’s SONA.
“We, at the Church, will contribute to the President’s SONA by offering holy masses for peace and justice in the country. The spiritual component is just as important to the country. All the masses in the Archdiocese of Manila from morning until the afternoon will be offered for our country,” Pabillo said over Church-run Radio Veritas.
Pabillo invited the faithful to the “Panalangin ng Sambayanan Para sa Katarungan at Kapayapaan – SONA Holy Mass” at 12:15 p.m. at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila on July 27.
“Let us be united in prayer at 12:15 p.m. on July 27 during a mass at the Manila Cathedral. Let us pray together for the sake of the country and reflect about the state of the country asking the wisdom coming from the Lord Jesus,” Pabillo said.
Due to limited church capacity, the elderly and those who cannot physically join the masses are advised to take part in the celebration online.
An Inter-confessional Ecumenical Inter-religious Prayer will follow the mass, where leaders from different religious denominations will offer prayers for the country.
