Winner Unlocks A Ducati With Shell Advance Contest In Valencia

While the MotoGP team prepared for Sunday’s MotoGP race, Shell Advance guests from around the world were competing to win a new Ducati Monster
Shell Advance guests converged at MotoGP season finale in Valencia, Spain last weekend for the conclusion of the “Unlock a Ducati” contest. “Unlock a Ducati” is Shell Advance’s latest Ducati themed global marketing program wherein prize winners from across the world were flown in to Valencia to enjoy a celebration of Shell’s Technical Partnership with Ducati.
Upon arrival at the gala dinner held at the Valencia Exhibition Palace, the guests were made to select a Ducati key, at random, for them to unlock the motorbike. Once settled in their seats, Ducati MotoGP Team Project Manager Alessandro Cicognani together with Shell Advance Global Brand Manager Kar Tai Koh, made their way on to the stage to begin the final stages of the competition.
When the time came to find out who would be leaving with the brand new Ducati Monster, all the guests were asked to simultaneously read a secret message enclosed with their keys – four lucky guests discovered that they were invited on to the stage to take part in the grand finale.
As the tension grew, the first finalist, Filipino Marjorie Jane Calingo inserted her key in the bike’s ignition only to discover it would not switch the bike on. On the second attempt, Maotuan Zheng from China, put the key in the ignition and successfully unlocked the Ducati, winning himself a brand new Ducati Monster on his return to China. “Tonight is a perfect example of the very special relationship we have with Shell. We’re very proud to be part of this promotion where fans can experience our shared passion for technology in a way that has never been done before,” Cicognani said after the contest.
Kar Tai Koh, for his part said, “I’d like to congratulate Maotuan Zheng and thank all the guests from around the world who have been part of an extraordinary few days in Valencia. The ‘Unlock a Ducati’ project has demonstrated to riders all over the world the passion and pride we feel for our Technical Partnership with Ducati and also helped us bring some of our most important customers even closer to Ducati. This has been a unique opportunity to show how the Shell Advance products available for the everyday rider are developed with the technical learnings discovered during race weekends like this.”
