President orders dismissal of cops in extortion case

"The three majors were working on a body camera and they were arguing because maybe of --- because of money. What else? Because of corruption. And so I said, fire them, dismiss them,” Duterte said in his remarks. "If they do not want to be dismissed, just do not allow them to enter the camp. Just tell him, 'You are no longer a policeman.' 'Who said?' ‘Duterte.' 'I have not been investigated.' 'Never mind the investigation. We’ll come to that later,’” he said. The police earlier announced the dismissal of the three cops after an investigation showed they extorted money from a bidder in the Philippine National Police's (PNP) P334 million purchase of body cameras. The dismissal order of Police Majors Emerson Sales, Rholly Caraggayan, and Angel Beros was signed by PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa. The policemen were members of the Technical Working Group of the Bids and Awards Committee of the PNP. One of the bidders reportedly complained about the alleged illegal activity of the three cops.
