3 universities in Malabon, Navotas declare class suspensions on Tuesday

By Joseph Almer Pedrajas Three universities in the cities of Malabon and Navotas have already declared class suspensions on Tuesday. Summer classes and other activities at the City of Malabon University (CMU), the City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute (CMPI), and the Navotas Polytechnic College (NPC) are already cancelled for inspection and maintenance check of the buildings after an earthquake rocked different parts of Luzon and Metro Manila on Monday afternoon. Malabon Mayor Len Len Oreta announced the cancellation of classes in two city universities through a post on his Facebook page. "ANNOUNCEMENT: Summer classes, entrance exams, and other activities at the City of Malabon University (CMU) and the City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute (CMPI) scheduled for tomorrow, 23 April 2019 (Tuesday) are CANCELLED to pave way for the maintenance check of the university’s buildings due to the earthquake." Meanwhile, the Navotas City government, through its Facebook page Navoteño AKO! announced the cancellation of classes at NPC as per advise of its president, Dr. Rebecca Añonuevo. The post reads: "Office work and summer classes at Navotas Polytechnic College are cancelled tomorrow, April 23, as the NPC Building shall undergo inspection after the earthquake today. Please stand by for further announcements." A magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked Zambales on Monday at around 5:11 p.m. The quake was felt in different parts of Metro Manila.
