Senator Christopher ‘’Bong’’ Go on Monday reiterated his call for all government agencies to ensure that those responsible for the twin bombings in Jolo last August 24 are held accountable for their actions.
Go, former Special Assistant to President Duterte, said. (Let us give justice to the lives of the innocent victims of the terrorists’ bombings.)
President Duterte and Senator Go left Davao City for Jolo, Sulu on Sunday where the Chief Executive paid tribute to the fallen members of the security forces who died during the twin bombings.
I’ll go there to fulfill the duty of a commander-in-chief,” President Duterte said in a video message before leaving for Jolo. (I will go directly to Jolo, the site of the bombing. My visit will give importance to our soldiers, my soldiers, the policemen as a result of their deaths.)
Go, chairman of the Senate Health and Demography Committee, previously explained that the Anti-Terrorism Law (ATL) must be implemented properly to enforce the law within its bounds against those who break it in order to stop terrorism at its roots.
(We will use the teeth of the ATL to fight terrorism, especially in Jolo. The fight against terrorists continues. We need to show that the government is there for them.)
In his message during the online concert held in Davao City yesterday, Go also emphasized the need for unity and hope to overcome this time of crisis and thanked everyone for their solidarity.
(I thank all those who believe in the President. The real leader in this current crisis is none other than our President and he wants to express his thanks to all of you.)
Go expressed his firm belief that all Filipinos, regardless of their political affiliation, share the same wish: to return to the days before the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic when they could embrace their loved ones.
He vowed that he and President Duterte would continue to serve the nation to the best of their abilities and do everything within their power to improve the lives of all Filipinos.
