A “never say die” attitude, an über supportive mother and his innate artistry are the reasons Brian Gazmen is launching his singing career with the debut song “Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song.”

The 17-year old actor is “blessed” with another opportunity to showcase his talent. It hasn't been an easy task, according to Brian.
“Nahirapan po ako sa pagpasok ko sa showbiz,” he recalled. “Na-experience kong pumila sa mga audition at magkaroon ng mga rejections.”
He added that he wanted to quit, but it was his mother, Iriga Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen, who encouraged him to pursue his passion.
“Those rejections became my motivation,” he quipped.
Now Brian has a song he can be proud of, composed by filmmaker Joven Tan titled “Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song.” It will be available starting Jan. 26 on Spotify. The music video will be released that day on Star Music’s YouTube page.
“I wanted a song that millennials can relate to. Heartbreak song siya na upbeat kasi ang sinasabi ng song kahit masakit magkahiwalay, life goes on,” he said.
Brian hopes everything would go well because another single is in the works for him.. He has also been composing songs for two years already some of which could be part of his debut album.
How did Brian Gazmen prepare for his showbiz career?
The first thing he did was lose weight. He tipped the scale at 85 kgs. when he joined Trumpets (he appeared in “Hairspray.”) But he already knew in his heart he had to shed extra pounds if he were to succeed in showbiz. His effective weight loss regimen - no rice for three years already. Brian is now down to 62 kgs.
As for his singing prowess, he is still taking vocal lessons from The Company’s Annie Quintos.
“Tuloy-tuloy lang po ang voice lessons kasi po hindi naman lahat ng tao perfect ang voice. Lagi pong may space for improvement,” he related.
Brian is also a product of the acting workshops of TV host, actor Ogie Diaz. So far, he has appeared on “Ipaglaban Mo” under the episode entitled “Gatilyo Gang,” and as the son of Sen. Mallari in ABS-CBN’s high-rating “La Luna Sangre.”
“I learned a lot about time management when I entered showbiz. Dati nahirapan ako kasi mahirap pagsabayin ang acting at pag-aaral ko. But now mas madali na,” revealed Brian who is a senior at the Ateneo de Manila High School.
On what he wants to achieve in showbiz, Brian said it’s to make a mark as actor and as singer.
