The country’s hottest “It” girls Heart Evangelista, Solenn Heussaff, Bianca King, and Rhian Ramos come together for “Sosy Problems,” the glossy entry of GMA Films to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The four girls, rich and famous, may have the most expensive pairs of shoes, high-end designer bags and the life that every girl wanted – but behind the glitz and glamor are the struggles and differences that they have to face.

In the story, Sosy girls’ tambayan, The Polo Club, is in danger of being torn down. The new owners of the exclusive club want to build a “yaya mall” – which, for the girls, is not at all a Sosy plan.

Meet The Sosy Girls

The spoiled rich daughter of a hotelier and self-appointed leader of the Sosy group, Lizzie (Rhian Ramos), proposes a planking protest to stop the bulldozers from rolling. But she gets into trouble and as a way to get back to the good graces of their family’s matriarch, she has to do one thing – to live with her poor relatives.

Then there’s Danielle (Bianca King), the daughter of an ex-politician who’s in the midst of an impeachment trial. She is still in denial that they are no longer a part of Manila’s richest. If she meets the guy who will love her for who she is, will she be courageous enough to accept her real status or will she stick to her plan of looking for a rich guy who can save them from financial difficulties?

Completing the Sosy Girls are frenemies Margaux (Solenn Heussaff) and Claudia (Heart Evangelista), daughters of former beauty queens who have had a long standing unfriendly competition. What happens if they find out that both of them are running after the same man, Benjo (Aljur Abrenica), an all-around employee at the Polo Club?

Adding glamor to the movie are Mikael Daez as Santi, Alden Richards as Iñigo, classy character actress Cherie Gil as Martina, Mylene Dizon as Bernice, Mikey Bustos as Denmark, Tim Yap as Jamie Yap, Agot Isidro as Glory, Maritoni Fernandez as Dada, Johnny Revilla as Gabriel, Ricky Davao as Sebastian, Nova Villa as Lola Patria, Barbie Forteza as Becca, Kristoffer Martin as Israel with the special participation of Ruffa Gutierrez as Luca.

Behind the fabulous designer pieces that the girls wear in the movie are Preview Fashion Editor Daryl Chang and stylist Andrei Chang. As the Sosy girls put it, “They are not just fashion editors. They’re artists who can translate the emotions and personalities into the clothes.”

Under the helm of Director Andoy Ranay and with Marlon Rivera as the script consultant, “Sosy Problems” is the official entry of GMA Films to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2012.

Cesar Montano As Andres Bonifacio

Awarded action star Cesar Montano stars as the “Supremo” Gat Andres Bonifacio in “El Presidente,” topbilled by Jeorge “ER” Estregan, and Scenema Concepts’ entry to the 2012 MMFF. He enjoins moviegoers to watch their movie first, if only for its rich historical value.

In commending Gov. ER (who, interestingly, came looking like his character Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo during his recent grand annual Christmas party for the media held at Padi’s Point in SM Mall of Asia) for embarking on this laudable movie project, Cesar said our young should know more about our history and culture. “We should not be illiterate about our own culture and history in our own country. Mga kabataan, dapat ‘di nila makalimutan ang ating mga bayani."

Cesar went on to relate that when a youngster asked him what our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, died of and he answered that he died of cancer, the guy believed him! That’s how ignorant most of our young are, he lamented.

Gov. ER also expressed admiration for Cesar’s acting prowess, which he has showcased in his past films, in particular “Rizal,” directed by the late Marilou Diaz-Abaya and which garnered many awards. He referred to Cesar as “the one and only Cesar Montano, produkto ng pelikulang Pilipino.”

The others in the cast of “El Presidente” who were present during the Christmas party were Ronnie Lazaro, Alvin Roa, Hero Bautista, Jerome Ejercito, and award-winning director Mark Meily.

Regine Velasquez’s Sexy Solutions

It’s now widely known that Regine Velasquez’s recent 25th anniversary concert “Silver” almost did not push through. After a short absence from the limelight during which she got pregnant, gave birth to her and Ogie Alcasid’s firstborn Nate, and then spent time to take care of the now one-year old boy, her comeback did not come easy. And then there was her post-partum weight plateau battle. Still, it was amazing that the SM MOA Arena was jam-packed the night she held the show.

Because she got sick and lost her voice on the day of her concert, and although she was able to perform, Regine felt she owes her fans a better concert and that is why she has scheduled a free concert early next year for those who attended “Silver.”

Anyway, what started Regine’s weight loss was her undergoing the Ultimate Sexy Solutions Program and the Anti-Plateau Diet. She regularly visits Sexy Solutions at Il Terrazzo Morato branch for treatments. She also orders her Anti-Plateau Diet from The Sexy Chef.
