Three “queens” in the entertainment industry have united to star in the comedy flick “Sisterakas,” Star Cinema and Viva Films’ entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). They are Ai Ai delas Alas, dubbed Comedy Concert Queen; Vice Ganda, Phenomenal Box Office Queen; and Kris Aquino, Queen of All Media. They are also the producers of the movie helmed by box office director Wenn V. Deramas.

The question is: Will they make “Sisterakas” the top-grosser of the festival?

“Of course, with their presence in the movie, we’re praying na maging No. 1 kami,” exclaimed the director.

Kris added, “It’s time na maging No. 1 ang movie ko. Two years ago, No. 3 ang pelikula ko; last year, No. 2 ang ‘Segunda Mano.’ So now, dapat naman siguro No. 1 na.”

Kris also has no problem tailing in the billing. “Tanggap ko naman na as far as comedy is concerned, mas angat sa akin sina Ai Ai and Vice. Saka ako ang pinakabata sa kanila, so okay lang.” And it meant a lot to Kris when Vice praised her acting, saying that she has good timing in comedy. “Napaiyak ako sa tuwa,” Kris said.

If Vice is so excited about this movie, it’s because it’s his first time to join the annual December film fest. “I told Viva I want to be at the Parade of Stars, at eto na nga, naging bongga pa kasi kasama ko sina Kris at Ai Ai…”

In the story, Vice portrays the role of Bernice, a gay man that is super successful in the apparel industry. As head of the Ponytale Company, he is determined to bring all his rivals down, including his hard-working half-sister Detty (Ai Ai) whose family refused to help Bernice’s family when they were still poor; and Roselle (Kris), his equally brilliant and talented yet eccentric business arch-nemesis.

In Bernice’s quest to secure his throne as the “queen of the clothing industry,” he will be forced to hire Detty as his 75th assistant – although it’s against his will. But things get out of hand and the world gets crazier when Detty suddenly becomes – of all things –Roselle’s employee!

“Sisterakas” also stars the young and popular love team of “Princess & I,” Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Also in the cast is Kapamilya child wonder Xyriel Manabat.

“Sisterakas” opens on Dec. 25 in theaters nationwide.
