E.P.R.S. ORIENTATIONS

CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) - The Collection Section of PhilHealth Regional Office-7 enjoins employers who have not yet adopted the Electronic Premium Reporting System (EPRS) in submitting their monthly remittance reports (RF-1) to attend the orientations set in 2013. Said orientations will be on January 11, 18, 25, 30; February 1, 8, 22, 28; March 8,15, and 22 at the PhilHealth Training Room, Golden Peak Hotel & Suites here. EPRS is a web-based application designed for convenient preparation and submission of the RF-1, which has been recently enhanced into EPRS Version 2.1 effective October this year.

BOHOL DATA 

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-Field Office 7) has formally turned over the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) data sets to the Provincial Government of Bohol at Bohol Tropics Resort in Tagbilaran City on November 29, 2012, with Bohol governor Edgardo Chatto receiving the electronic copy of the NHTS-PR Proxy Means Test (PMT) results and statistics covering selected demographic profile of poor households in Bohol. The data sets contain the magnitude of poor households per town and barangay, list of poor households with family members, date of birth, age, and type of toilet facilities used, list of poor households without electricity, households with type of main water source and those with and without PhilHealth coverage.

D.T.I. WARNING

CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-7) is warning sellers of substandard motorcycle helmets. The agency is enjoining motorcycle helmet sellers to get their stocks from manufacturers and importers given the Philippine Standard (PS) license and/or Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) Certificate. Effective January 2, 2013, motorcycle drivers caught driving without a protective helmet bearing the ICC seal will be issued citation tickets and penalized as stated in the Helmet Act of 2009. Any person who uses, sells and distributes substandard motorcycle helmets or those which do not bear the PS mark or the ICC certificate shall be punished with a fine of not less than P3,000 for the first offense and P5,000 for the second offense, without prejudice to other penalties imposed in Republic Act No. 7394 or the “Consumer Act of the Philippines.”

WEIGHING STATIONS

CARIGARA, Leyte (PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways Second Leyte Engineering District (LED) has proposed the setting up of a weighing station in Ormoc City to solve the problem of overloading of cargoes passing through the Palo-Carigara-Ormoc Road Section of Daang Maharlika. Second LED District Engineer Ma. Margarita Junia justified her proposal saying that it is about time weighing scales are set up in the Western part of Leyte. Ormoc City Port is considered a major entry point of many goods in Eastern Visayas because of its accessibility for shipments.

REMITTANCE ADVICE

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PIA) - The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Tacloban City branch recently conducted an orientation seminar on Agency Authorized Officer and Agency Liaison Officer to re-integrate the importance of Agency Remittance Advice (ARA) in harmony with the data of their personnel with the GSIS. Joy Poloyapoy of GSIS Tacloban Branch said the Agency Remittance Advice is very crucial in updating employees record and reconcile if there is disparity in records.
