How To Apply Power Fertilizer

SUGARCANE RATOON GROWS FAST WITH POWER GROWER COMBO — Young sugarcane plants, whether ratoon or plantcane, will grow fast when sprayed with Power Grfower Combo, a special fertilizer formulation by Alfonso G. Puyat. The young plants will produce a lot of tillers so that the yield per hectare will significantly increase. In an experiment in the farm of Mauro and Melanie Merculio in Victoria, Tarlac, the treated plants yielded practically double compared to the untreated one-hectare plantation. Sometime back, we featured the special fertilizer that doubled the yield of sugarcane in the farm of Mauro and Melanie Merculio in Victoria, Tarlac.
This is the Power Grower Combo that Alfonso G. Puyat formulated. And here’s his recommendation on how to apply it on sugarcane.
The first spraying is recommended when the plants are still very young, whether they are a ratoon crop or plantcane crop (meaning growth from the original planting material).
In the case of a ratoon crop, the first spraying is done after shaving the stubble and the plants are fertilized in the soil with the usual recommended organic or chemical fertilizer. By this time the ratoon crop should have at least four tillers and each tiller has four leaves.
In the case of the plantcane crop, spraying is done after fertilization with the usual recommended organic or chemical fertilizer in the soil. The Power Gower Combo is sprayed on the leaves.
DOSAGE – Dissolve one-half kilo (one pack) Power Grower Combo in 200 liters (one drum) of water and spray this on the leaves of plants.
If your cane plants are already big, you may skip the first spraying and go on to the second spraying. The second spraying is very important. This is done after the second fertilization in the soil with the recommended organic or chemical fertilizer. The plants should be three to four months old or when they are about three feet tall. If possible, spraying should be done after the first real rain of the wet season.
DOSAGE – Dissolve one kilo (2 packs) of Power Grower Combo in 400 liters of water (2 drums) and spray on one hectare of sugarcane.
The third spray is done 3 to 4 weeks after the second spray. The plants should be five to six feet tall.
DOSAGE – Mix one kilo (2 packs) of Power Grower Combo in 400 liters of water and spray on one hectare of sugarcane.
ON RICE – Power Grower Combo also works well on rice. Two formulations are applied, the Power Grower Combo and Heavy Weight Tandem.
Power Grower Combo is sprayed two times. The first is 8 to 10 days from transplanting and 18 to 20 days from transplanting. One pack (500 grams) is needed per hectare per spraying.
The Heavy Weight Tandem is sprayed also two times. The first is 38 to 40 days after transplanting. The second spraying is when the plants are about to flower.
ON LEAFY VEGETABLES – Spray leafy vegetables like pechay, mustard, lettuce, etc. two times. Mix 4 scoops (there’s a scoop in the package) in 16-liter sprayer and spray on the plants when they have four to six leaves. Repeat the spray 10 to 15 days later.
ON FRUITING VEGETABLES -These include ampalaya, tomato, eggplant, etc. Spray one week after transplanting or after three weeks when direct seeded. Follow up spray every 10 to 15 days while the plants are producing fruits.
