Rain could not stop the culminating activity of the 2012 National Drag Racing Championship (NRDC). The drag racing finals featured the podium finishers in the Underbone 115, Scooter 130, and Raider 150 categories.

For the Underbone 115 category, Davao’s Manuel Sumug-Oy from the V-Man Racing Team finished first place. He was followed by Norvin Dizon of Turbo Racing Pampanga and Jeffrey Teopengco of KRMC Davao.

Anver Antonio, Sumug-Oy’s teammate, won the first place in the Scooter 130 category. Sumug-Oy then finished second, followed by Jeffrey Pedere of NFS Tacloban.

For the Raider R 150 category, Mike Angelo Adapon of Yolac Racing Team Cavite took home the trophy and the cash prize. Second was Michael Cortez of Tsurumi Racing Team Quezon City and third was Mark Lalwani of Team Red Speed Isabela.

Suzuki’s Motorcycle Division General Manager, Eiji Kobayashi, promised that Suzuki will continue providing safe and legal tracks for drag racing.

Spectators and motorcycle club members participated in the activities organized by co-presentor Phoenix Clyclomax and event sponsors Denso Spark Plugs, Monster Energy, Smart Communication and MTRT.

After the races, Suzuki invited the different motorcycle clubs to join and contribute to the “Fun Day”. Among the participating clubs were Hayate Club, Skydrive Society, Skydrive Philippines, Thunder Riders Organization of the Philippines, Club R150, and PSRC Laguna.

Capping the day’s activities was the awarding of the three podium finishers for each category. The celebration ended with a concert and the popping of wine by the winners.
