SARAH GERONIMO

2012 was definitely a banner year for Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo, what with the many milestones she achieved and the success of her many projects and endeavors. Among them were the debut of her own show on ABS-CBN, “Sarah G: Live,” and her back-to-back shows that coincided with her 25th birthday celebration.

Sarah also received many awards this past year, including the Bestselling Record of the Year from the 25th Awit Awards for her album “One Heart,” the Best Asian Artist-Philippines award given by South Korea’s MNET Asian Music Awards, the Most Downloaded Artist award from Entertainment Gateway Group (her song “Sino Nga Ba Siya” was the most downloaded), and Aliw Awards’ Best Major Concert of the Year for her two-day concert at Smart-Araneta Coliseum titled “24/SG.” This was released last Dec. 25, 2012 as a full-length concert-video on DVD and is available in all leading music and video stores.

For all her successes in 2012, Sarah’s family tendered recently a thanksgiving-tsikahan for the entertainment press at their very own restaurant called IMO along Mindanao Ave., QC, which we found to our liking if only for its organic vegetable salad and the unique and healthy way they cook and prepare the food. Sarah’s mom Divine herself plants some of the vegetables they serve especially the arugula.

Anyway, at the thanksgiving dinner, Sarah announced that she’s ready to meet the challenges of 2013, the Year of the Snake. Her projects have been carefully lined-up, beginning with the movie “It Takes Man And A Woman,” which is her third team-up with John Lloyd Cruz. This will be shown on Black Saturday.

Another movie Sarah will do this year is “Forever Is Not Enough” (which is the title of her very first hit song) which will partner her with Coco Martin. The movie will be shown in June. Also, Sarah is going to renew her contract with ABS-CBN very soon.

This year also marks Sarah’s 10th anniversary in showbiz and according to her manager, Boss Vic del Rosario, a big, big concert is being prepared for her, “even bigger than ‘24/SG’ that will be held either at Smart-Araneta or SM Mall of Asia Arena.

This year, Sarah also intimated that she wants to be more involved in her career and make decisions in the way it will go. As to matters of the heart, well she hopes to find “Mr. Right BF” soon with less interference from her parents, especially her mom, and with more freedom.

Fun-Filled Tunes From Greenwich Barkada

Last holiday season, Greenwich, the country’s leading pizza chain, threw a fun-filled bash for those who contributed to the brand’s success. The ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La was tuned into a wonderland overloaded with exciting games, fun-filled tunes from the Greenwich Barkada, and fabulous surprises.

“This special holiday get-together is our way of showing our heartfelt gratitude to our friends from the press,” said Cookie Cabrera, Greenwich PR and Corporate Affairs Manager. “They play an important role in helping us get our messages and stories across our market and in making the Filipinos aware of our latest offerings.”

Of course, the Greenwich feast would not be complete without the Greenwich Barkada. Joining in the fun were the Pizza Gang and the Greenwich pasta girls Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff and Kelly Misa. The Greenwich Barkada entertained guests with their rendition of popular Christmas tunes. They also shared their fun moments with their Greenwich family and gamely answered questions from members of media.

When asked what they want to receive from Santa, Anne answered that she wanted Christian Grey from the hit novel “50 Shades of Grey” to come to life. Kelly, on the other hand, wanted a couch for her living room and Solenn just wanted an Overload Greenwich feast that she can share with her friends and loved ones. Rockeoke session with the guests kept the night alive.

Adding more fun to the gathering was the introduction of the latest Greenwich offering- the 15-in. Party Pizza. This pizza is perfect for any barkada occasion. Highlighted flavor was the Greenwich Ultimate Special Overload Pizza which is topped with 13 premium toppings. All these are served on hot, freshly made special crust that’s crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside.
