Toyota Motorsport Group’s aerodynamic department has been awarded the prestigious Aerodynamicists of the Year award at the Race Tech World Motorsport Symposium.

The award is presented to the most impressive aerodynamic work in motorsport during a calendar year, and TMG earned its nomination courtesy of its work designing the TS030 Hybrid LMP1 car.

Using the TS030 Hybrid, Toyota Racing won three of its six races in its first FIA World Endurance Championship season, despite competition from very experienced competition.

TMG’s deputy heads of aerodynamics, Rene Hilhorst and Ralph Hardman, traveled to Birmingham in England to receive the award on behalf of the whole department.
