Pirelli will officially equip the Toyota Motorsport Group (TMG) GT86 Cup with tires in 2013, the first season for the new championship featuring the GT86 CS-V3 race car.

This exclusive partnership enables TMG to offer tried-and-tested high-performance tires to TMG GT86 Cup competitors for a special price. Furthermore, every team winning a race will get a free set of premium tires from Pirelli.

“As we were learning from previous projects with Pirelli we can trust in their extensive experience and technical competence. Moreover, the Pirelli slick is an ideal tire for long-distance races, considering performance and abrasion resistance,” TMG Senior Engineer Nico Ehlert said.

“As tests already demonstrated, it has a positive influence on the balance of the GT86 CS-V3. We are looking forward to the new cooperation and the option to offer the participant teams a perfect tire for a very attractive price-performance ratio,” Ehlert added.

GT86 Cup regulations stipulate tires in the dimension 245/620R17 and compound DH (slicks) or WH (rain tires). Running within the popular Nurburgring-based VLN series, the TMG GT86 Cup is exclusively for GT86 CS-V3 entrants and offers attractive prize money as well as the thrill of competition on the legendary Nordschleife.
