DEADLINE EXTENDED

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte — Sangguniang Panlungsod members here in a recent session unanimously approved a resolution granting a one month extension in the renewal of business permits for 2013 without any interests and surcharges. Resolution No. 20913-11-22 authored by City Councilor Jerry S. Uy, who chairs the committee on laws and privileges, extends deadline for payment of local taxes, fees and charges, sans charges and penalties from Jan. 20, 2013 to Feb. 20, 201. A lawyer and former president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Leyte chapter, Uy said the approval of the resolution benefits small businessmen with financial problems as business here is currently slow because of low copra prices. The City Treasurer's Office and the  Record Section of the Bureau of Local Government Finance in Manila has been furnished a copy of said resolution. (Nestor L. Abrematea)
