In a Facebook post on Saturday, the bishop said the killings are "picking up again" as he listed 11 deaths that happened in a span of 10 days.
However, police reports showed that nine people have been killed.
Killed in the first 10 days of November are "Waray," who was killed in a police encounter on Nov. 2; Ernesto Osorio, 60, on Nov. 3; Jimbo Opriasa, 35, and a still unidentified victim on Nov. 5; Rodel Manlapaz, 17 on Nov. 6; Teofilo Francisco Jr., 33, on Nov. 7; Christopher Boljoran, 23, on Nov. 8; Rannie Barrot, 35, on Nov. 9; and Ricardo Domingo, 52, on Nov. 10; all killed by unidentified men.
Six of the killings happened in Navotas. Two cases were reported in Caloocan, while one incident happened in Malabon.
The most recent victim, Domingo, was reportedly having a drinking spree with three of his friends when he was gunned down by two men.
A check with the police showed that most of the victims were involved in illegal drug activity.
Most of the cases are still under investigation as the gunmen involved remain unidentified.
