(Czar Dancel/Manila Bulletin/ FILE PHOTO) Philvolcs resident volcanologist Ed Laguerta told the Manila Bulletin that the lava fountaining lasted some 36 seconds, accompanied by grayish ash plumes drifting to southeast while white plumes drifted to west. Four volcanic earthquakes were recorded while the sulfur dioxide emission was at 806 tons per day during the event, Laguerta said. "Tira tira na lang ito noong nangyaring eruption early this year. Pero naka-monitor kami kasi di natin binabalewa ang lahat ng possibility (These are remnants of the eruption earlier this year. But we are constsntly monitoring for any eventuality),” Laguerta said. Phivolcs on Monday stated that the seismic monitoring network did not detect any volcanic earthquake during the past 24 hours. Only a small, short-lived brownish as plume, associated with degassing was observed around 7:39 a.m. on Monday near the summit. There was no accompanying seismic and infrasound record from the event, according to Phivolcs. Laguerta reminded the public to keep off the 6-kilometer permanent danger zone. Alert level 2 remains in effect.
