By Armando Fenequito Jr. DAVAO CITY – The Tapang at Malakasakit Alliance for the Philippines (TMAP), which is led by Presidential daughter and Mayor Sara Z. Duterte, issued a warning to its members and supporters not to transact with persons who could be using the organization’s name to solicit money, or ask for favors. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio (RICHARD MADELO/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO / MANILA BULLETIN) In a statement, TMAP said that while the group “appreciated the effort and enthusiasm of supporters, the Alliance has not sanctioned the creation of Tapang at Malasaki sub-groups.” The group issued the statement after it was reported that a certain TMAP DDS (Digong Duterte Supporters) Europe organized a gathering in Milan, Italy last November 2 without its knowledge or approval. It said the Alliance has not authorized any person or group to represent, organize events, or solicit money or favors on behalf of the groop, its advocacies, and programs. The Alliance is a federation of all existing Duterte supporter groups that seek to improve the lives of the Filipinos. It promotes volunteerism and pushes President Duterte’s reform agendas. The public is cautioned about dealing with individuals who identify themselves as local or global representatives of the Alliance, especially if solicitations for money or other kinds of favors are involved. "Tapang at Malasakit Alliance does not ask for money or favors," it said. The group said that, as a duly registered entity with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), “Tapang at Malasakit Alliance” has a legal duty to prevent other people or organizations from using its corporate name. "We therefore ask the public not to use the 'Tapang at Malasakit' name to avoid any confusion, misrepresentation or legal liabilities," the group said.
