4.3-magnitude quake hits Agusan del Sur

By Mike Crismundo BUTUAN CITY - A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Agusan del Sur province Saturday night, November 17, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor was registered at 7:58 p.m. The epicenter was located only 15 kilometers northwest from the town proper of La Paz, Agusan del Sur, it said. The tremor had a depth of 52 km, Phivolcs said. Intensity 3 was registered in Gingoog City, while Intensity 2 was also recorded in nearby Medina town, Misamis Oriental province, it also said. No aftershock is expected. The earthquake was tectonic in origin, the state agency added.
