10 dialysis machines installed at medical center in Tondo, Manila

This would mean providing free dialysis treatment to 100 to 200 Manileños with kidney diseases every day. The project was made possible through a joint-venture agreement between the city government of Manila and B. Braun Avitum Phils. “I have ordered the expansion of the dialysis center at the medical center to ease the financial burden of many Manileños,” said Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada during a simple ceremony at GABMMC on Monday. “The average cost of dialysis treatment is nearly P3,000 and it can even go as high as P4,000 in major private hospitals. And that is only for one session. Each patient need at least three times a week,” the local chief executive added. The Manila Dialysis Center at GABMMC started with only 26 dialysis machines four years ago.
