Pinay Picked To Sing On World Youth Day In Brazil

MANILA, Philippines - British-Filipino singer Cherie Anderson with her band Ooberfuse will perform the song "Hope Of Dawn" at the World Youth Day gathering in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to a report on "Unang Hirit," the band translated the song from the original Portuguese version before recording it.
It’s not the first time Cherrie had participated in activities relating to World Youth Day. A few years back, her composition “Faith In You” was one of the winners of the World Youth Day global song contest that chalked up 270 entries from 40 countries.
Those songs, Cherrie said, were ‘listened to by people all over the world more than half a million times!’ Ooberfuse also sang the youth anthem for Pope Benedict’s visit to the UK in 2010, according to a report posted on gmanetwork.com.
