Imelda Papin’s Disqualification Case Debunked
Sentimental Songstress and former vice governor of Camarines Sur Imelda Papin has all the reasons to be elated now that the disqualification case filed against her with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has been debunked.
Imelda is running for a seat in the House of Representatives to represent the Lone Congressional District of San Jose Del Monte City. Her candidacy was almost aborted with a petition filed with the Comelec questioning her residency in San Jose Del Monte City.
Her lawyer, Romulo Macalintal, said that “Imelda Papin is still a candidate qualified to run for the lone congressional district of San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan despite an earlier ruling of the Comelec Second Division cancelling her Certificate of Candidacy on the ground that she is not allegedly a resident of the said district.”
Earlier, the city’s Election Registration Board (ERB) approved her registration as a voter after conducting an ocular inspection of Papin’s place which the petitioner for Papin’s disqualification described as “not fit for human habitation.”
Papin also fulfills the one-year residency requirement to qualify as voter and as candidate because she commenced residing in her place May 10, 2012, a one-year period before the May 13, 2013 election.
Macalintal said the Comelec’s Second Division ruling adhering to petitioner Larry Gabriel is “not yet final and executory since respondent was able to file a motion for reconsideration on Feb. 11, 2013 as required.”
The residency issue was already resolved when the ERB approved Papin’s application for registration as voter, and as such, the petition to disqualify her should have already been declared null and void.

Kylie Padilla Back Via ‘Unforgettable’
With the success of her previous shows “Blusang Itim” and “The Good Daughter,” Kylie Padilla has proven herself capable of the demands of an afternoon soap. Now, she’s back to prove her acting mettle once more via the new GMA Network afternoon teleserye “Unforgettable” where Mark Herras and Benjamin Alves fight for her love.
“This is a new challenge for me,” Kylie said of her role where her character isn’t as clean-cut as the ones she had portrayed.
In the series, Kylie plays a woman accused of murder – and all clues will point towards her as being a criminal. But she is, of course, innocent. And no one knows this more than the victim himself – who is portrayed by Mark Herras, who, in turn, returns to his good boy image after playing bad-boy characters on “Luna Blanca” and “Hiram na Puso.”
On the other hand, Benjamin Alves, who was last seen in the remake of “Coffee Prince,” plays a lawyer bent on doing the right thing.
