Net25’s “MOMents” turns six years old this year and who could be happier about this than the host herself, Gladys Reyes? “This is my show, and I’m very proud of it,” she remarked at a recent press conference held at Outback Steakhouse in Libis, Quezon City.

“If I am so faithful to ‘MOMents,’ it’s because this is my first hosting job, I think it was tailor-made for me. Dito ko nahasa ang hosting skills ko, kaya mahal na mahal ko ang ‘MOMents.’ And it’s a good show for the whole family, and not only for moms, although the focus is more on them. Lahat naman tayo may memorable moments to share, ’di ba? Especially first time moms, first time parents. This is a show that the whole family can relate to.”

To celebrate six years of family bonding, Gladys and family went to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort for a back-to-back episode that began airing last Saturday on Net25 with replays last Sunday and Thursday. “It was a most memorable trip for us – my husband Christopher and our kids, Christophe, Aquisha and Grant. And especially so because it coincided with Christophe’s seventh birthday,” Gladys related.

The episode also marks the debut of Christophe and Aquisha, 4, as hosts of a kiddie segment of “MOMents.” Gladys said she did not force her kids into the show. “They were naturally drawn into it, siguro dahil I always bring them with me to my tapings, they see what work I do and how I do it, so nagka-interest sila.”

As to the show’s six successful years, she offered, “Siguro dahil tamang-tama ang sangkap na ’pag pinaghalo-halo ay swak na swak sa concept ng show. Marami kaming na-touch na tao kaya kami nagtagal na ganito. And of course, dahil na rin sa mga celebrity guests that we have featured, like Ate Guy (Nora Aunor), Ate Vi (Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto), Lea Salonga, Sharon Cuneta, Rep. Imelda Marcos, Maricel Soriano, Robin Padilla, Lorna Tolentino, Pops Fernandez, Judy Ann Santos – at marami pang iba. I had unforgettable moments with them in my show.”

Through her celebrity guests, Gladys said, “I learned how to listen to them as they relate their unforgettable moments.”

Gladys is under contract with GMA Network but she is allowed to do “MOMents” with Net25. Aside from “MOMents,” Gladys hopes to do a teleserye wholesome enough for her parents to watch, she said. If plans push through, she said she’ll do a movie soon under Viva Films which could also include her husband in the cast. This will be directed by Wenn V. Deramas and will star Maricel Soriano. Gladys will also be among the stars in the big-budgeted movie ‘Sugo” where she will play mother to the titular role.

Things are really going roses for Gladys and we’d like to congratulate her, especially for the success of “MOMents,” aired every Saturday at 7 p.m. on Net25.

Joey Albert In CF Concert Tour

OPM hitmaker and multi-awarded music icon, Joey Albert, whose classic love songs like “Tell Me,” “Million Miles Away,” “Iisa Pa Lamang” and “I Remember The Boy” take Casino Filipino guests down memory lane as she goes on a nationwide concert tour at various Casino Filipino venues this March.

“I will be singing all my hit songs plus classic ’70s songs and movie themes. I’m presenting a new concept which I call a cine-concert. It’s actually a track show. Imagine watching a movie with me singing the soundtracks live,” said Albert when asked what is in store for the audience during her concert tour.

According to Albert, she was one of the mainstay performers of Casino Filipino before she moved to Canada in the ’90s. “It will be an honor to join the impressive roster of performers at the Casino Filipino. Their shows become a venue for worthy Filipino performances. I applaud PAGCOR for their strong advocacy for our Filipino artists,” she said.

PAGCOR Assistant VP-Entertainment Bong Quintana said great shows have already been set at different Casino Filipino venues this March to welcome the festive summer season. “Aside from the celebrity performances at various Casino Filipino branches, we are also excited over the homecoming concert of Ms. Albert.” Quintana said.

Albert will be joined by PAGCOR 5 (P5) talent Hadasa Camporaso during the concert tour. “It’s my first time to work with Ms. Joey Albert and I really look forward to front act for her. Importante po siya,” Camporaso said.

Joey’s national concert tour with the P5 members kicked off at the Casino Filipino Bacolod yesterday, and will continue today at the Casino Filipino Cebu; Davao (March 3); Amigo Terrace, Iloilo (March 4);  Casino Filipino Hyatt (March 8); Casino Filipino Heritage (March 9); Airport Casino Filipino (March 13); Casino Filipino Angeles (March 14),  Olongapo (15) and Tagaytay (16); and Casino Filipino Pavilion (March 20).
