MANILA, Philippines - Apl.d.ap is being tapped to join the Philippine edition of the popular reality singing contest  "The Voice of the Philippines" as a coach.

ABS-CBN’s TV Production Entertainment Head Laurenti Dyogi confirmed Friday that they have been negotiating with The Black Eyed Peas rapper for some time now.

“We are in the final stages,” Dyogi told ABS-CBN.com.

Some weeks ago, Sarah Geronimo, Tony award-winning singer-actress Lea Salonga, and Bamboo Mañalac were confirmed as coaches of the upcoming show to be hosted by Toni Gonzaga with each supposedly representing "The Voice of Pop," "The Voice of Broadway" and "The Voice of Rock," respectively.

Black Eyed Peas founding member will.i.am is also a coach in the United Kingdom version of "The Voice."
