Coping with stress on finals week

March 4, 2013, 3:11pm

College life is exciting but also stressful for many students, especially now that finals week is approaching.

Aside from beating thesis deadlines and doing last-minute cramming work on projects, they also have to go through late-night study sessions. And because studying is more than just cracking open a textbook and reading or memorizing, here are a few tips for studying smart:

Be free from distractions. Study where you know you won’t be interrupted. Turn off the TV or stay away from Facebook and other social media. Find a quiet and comfortable place. Tell your companions in the house when you are reviewing so they won't disturb you. If this is not possible at home, you might want to give the library that long-overdue visit.

Organize yourself. Ask your professor the topics that are most important to review. Put sticky notes on the pages you have identified as difficult, and allot ample time to study them carefully. Also, highlight key points for quick scanning. Do not rush. Move on to new topics only when you are sure you have already covered the other topics.

Team up with a friend or join a study group. Joining a study group will help you with difficult areas. Spend some time teaching each other, particularly on topics that are difficult. Sometimes it helps to think of questions that might be on the exam and to plan your answers ahead.

Take a few breaks. Go for a walk and get away for 15 minutes every hour or so. Weary students who are looking for anything that can help them endure those all-nighters can rely on Barako Bull Energy Drink for that added energy and focus.

While for other brands, energy boost comes from caffeine and high sugar content, Barako Bull is the only energy drink that contains N.E.X.T or Natural Energy Extenders. It has D-Ribose to help fight stress and fatigue and Tongkat Ali for improved blood flow, stamina and endurance. Barako Bull Energy Drink is available in three flavors: Classic; Energy Cola and Lemon Lime.

Now that you are provided with a few ways to make the next couple of weeks more bearable, it is time to stack up those books and reviewers, and ace your finals.
