STA. CRUZ, Zambales — A delegation from South Korea has seen the vast agricultural potential of this mining town as they vow to further improve crop production.

North Gyeongsang Governor Kim Kwan-yong, who is also the head of the Saemaeul Undong, said the delegation plans to improve their agricultural know-how by sharing technical knowledge, skills, and modern machineries to farmers here.

The delegation of Saemaeul Undong, which means New Village Movement, sent a team from the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services headed by Director Janghui Chae. Chae also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with town Mayor Luisito Marty.

Marty said “as a municipality relying mainly on agriculture, we welcome the promise of our South Korean friends to help improve our production by teaching us the modern ways of developing high-yield crops.”

Marty hopes that the MOU with the South Korean movement could further improve other aspects of the lives of residents here.
