The Nivea Summer Blast 2013 shook the beaches of Puerto Princesa, Palawan last week but before that, I already knew about the event when the hash tag #NIVEASummerblast started trending on Twitter. Luckily, my partner, Amiel Aguilar-Cabanlig, and our resident ace shutterbug, Raul J. Teehankee, were invited to the event so I can give you dearies the highlights.

The celebrity entourage of the Nivea Summer Blast was divided into four teams headed by team leaders John Hall, Luis Alandy, Laureen Uy and Alex Schwieger representing blue, green, yellow and orange, respectively. The sporting event started off with a Hula-hoop Pass where the green team won. The team included models Ornussa Cadness, Jessica and Jaqueline Milner, Brent Javier, actors Paolo Paraiso, Jason Abalos, Luis Alandy, John Ervic Vijandre, Barry Viloria, actresses Nicole Andersson, Samantha Humphries and our Raul.

The next game, Scrambled Puzzle, was won by Amiel’s orange team that was supposed to have been headed by Divine Lee but since she was absent, Nivea’s Country Manager Alex Schwieger took over. The orange team chose a very cool game head, Maria Perrson, who did wonders in order for the team to finish ahead of the rest. The orange team included actors Jeremy Marquez, Carlos Agassi, Jommy Teotico, Justin Dizon, Victor Silayan, singer Champ Lui Pio, TV host Divine Lee, Amiel-Aguilar Cabanlig and talent manager Neil De Guia.

The yellow team composed of celebrities Ynna Asistio, Sannya Smith, Jose Sarasola, Matthew Mendoza, ABS-CBN producer Jake Aspiras, Fred Payawan, Patricia Centenera, Nerissa Almo, Gerhard Acao, Emanwell Canales, Luigi O’Avola, Janet Sigare, Bam Abellon, Jay Salazar, Adrian Concepcion and Nyko Rodriguez won the Fill the Bottle game.

When it came to the last game, Luis Alandy led the green team into bagging the coveted first prize. It was a grueling show of sportsmanship and camaraderie when these celebrities went against each other. Truly, the the Nivea Summer Blast remains true-to-form as the mother of all summer events!
