‘Basyang’ strands 1,371 passengers

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that a total of 1,371 passengers were stranded due to tropical storm “Basyang.”

As of Friday, the PCG said a total of 197 passengers were stranded in Cebu along with 16 Roro vehicles, four motorbancas, and 11 other water vessels.

In Tagbilaran, 407 passengers and two water vessels were stranded.

In Dumaguete, 580 passengers, 1 motorbanca and three water vessels were stranded.

In Masbate, Bicol region, 174 passengers were stranded including three motorboats, two water vessels, two cargo vessels, nine buses, 10 trucks, and three small cars.

The Coast Guard Cataingan, Masbate reported two stranded passengers, one water vessel, and one small car.

In Placer, there were 11 stranded passengers, one water vessel, and four trucks. (Jenny Manongdo)
