Central Luzon to host APEC 2015
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga—Central Luzon in 2015 will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be participated by leaders from 19 countries.
Police Regional Office 3 director, Chief Supt. Raul Petrasanta, on Thursday said the Philippine National Police (PNP) has already started security preparations for the big and important summit and related ministerial and sub-ministerial meetings.
“We had an ocular inspection and coordination meetings with officials of sites that are likely to host the meetings, namely, Clark Freeport, Subic Freeport and Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac town in Bataan,” he said in an interview.
He said the PNP-PRO3 has also coordinated with the Departments of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and National Defense (DND) to enhance proper coordination and security measures for delegates who will be attending the summit.
Apart from the Philippines, other members of APEC include Australia, Brunei Darrusalam, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, United States, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Chile, Peru, Russia and Vietnam.
