Cinemalaya 2014 finalists unveiled
The list of finalists for the New Breed and Directors’ Showcase categories for the 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival was announced recently via the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) official website
The CCP has described the list as covering a huge swathe of genres as it includes several “coming of age stories, romance, epics, comedy and action.”
Now on its 10th year, Cinemalaya is an all-digital film festival that aims to discover, encourage and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers.
Aside from the New Breed and Directors’ Showcase categories, Cinemalaya also has a Short Feature category, among other film exhibition sections.
This year’s Cinemalaya will be held from Aug. 1 to 10 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Greenbelt 3, TriNoma and Alabang Town Center.
