DSWD-Caraga distributes P20.968M worth of relief goods
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga on Thursday reported that a total of P20.968 million worth of family food packs have already been distributed to thousands of flood victims in the region.
The agency said that about 72,640 family food packs containing three kilos of rice, three cans of corned beef or beef loaf, three sardines, six noodles, and six pieces of coffee were issued to flood victims at various evacuation centers.
The local government unit of Agusan del Norte received P3million worth of family food packs for the 11,107 families affected by the recent two weeks Low Pressure Area (LPA) and tropical depression “Agaton”.
Butuan City flood victims, meanwhile, received 18,648 family food packs. Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, on the other hand, got 4,000 family food packs.
Region Xlll DSWD Regional Director Dr. Minda B. Brigoli said there are 4,000 family food packs worth P1.073 million that are ready for distribution to various LGUs in the region. (Mike Crismundo)
