DSWD7 eyes P4.7-B budget for 2015
CEBU CITY, Cebu- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 has proposed a budget of P4.7 billion for 2015.
The money will be used for the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Kalahi-Comprehensive Integrated Delivery of Social Service (CIDSS), Listahanan or NHTS-PR, Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, Supplementary Feeding Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program, provision of technical and advisory assistance, among others.
These projects were identified after a consultation dialogue with civil society organizations (CSO) that recommended priority programs for the DSWD in the region. The participation of CSOs in budget preparation, execution, monitoring and evaluation is supposed to promote transparency in the use of public funds.
In 2013, DSWD-7 was able to utilize P3,011,703,000 billion out of the P3,208,846,000 approved budget, excluding the funds allocated for disaster operation that was taken from the DSWD Central Office.
