Ely Buendia says Megan Young is no Ms. World – in his movie
Her beauty may have made Megan Young famous the world over, but there is no doubt that she has more to offer.
First time film director Ely Buendia attests to the artistic talent of the reigning Miss World, whom he worked with in “Pusakal,” a segment in the upcoming feature “Bang Bang Alley.”
“The main thing that I want people to focus on in this movie is how good of an actress she really is and I hope na ‘pag tapos na ‘yung duties niya as Miss World, bumalik siya sa acting dahil marami pa siyang puwedeng gawin,” Ely told ABS-CBN News.
In the film, the 24-year old was deglamorized to portray the role of Abbey, a troubled rich kid who hides out in the mountains after committing a crime.
According to Ely, he didn’t hear a single complaint from Megan, even when he asked her to do what he described as a daring shower scene.
“Sobrang walang sakit sa ulo. Super down to earth and super nice. Whatever you asked her to do, she would do it without question and with conviction,” Buendia related.
He went on to add, “Megan has talent. She would take a minute before (the cameras would start) rolling and she would become a totally different person… Hindi siya Miss World sa movie na ‘to.”
In a past interview with Bulletin Entertainment, Young shared that she did “Bang Bang Alley” way before she joined the Miss World pageant last year.
Directing separate episodes in “Bang Bang Alley” are King Palisoc (“Makina”) and Yan Yuzon (“Aso’t Pusa Daga”). The film, set for release on April 9, also stars Joel Torre, Art Acuña, Perla Bautista, Gabe Mercado, Bela Padilla, Jimmy Santos, Althea Vega and Jamie Wilson.
